According to UNICEF about 90% of public schools in Kenya have dirt floors, no electricity, no water or sanitation system and definitely not enough desks for all students. School  buildings have leaky roofs, lack books and other learning materials and some classes have upto 80 students due to shortage of teachers.

Since 60% of Kenyan families live in absolute poverty, many children are forced to abscond school in order to take up some casual labor to earn cash to feed themselves and their younger siblings. One successful method to ensuring that children attend school on a regular basis is through school feeding programs

Adopt-A-School, Kenya takes up WFP's simple school feeding formula: Food attracts hungry children to school. An education broadens their options, helping to lift them out of poverty.

We at Adopt-A-School, Kenya in partnership with parents, organizations, communities. philanthropists and other like minded individuals strive to make a difference to a child, one school at a time

"I strongly believe that every shilling or dollar wasted translates to denial of a nutritious meal and proper education to a hungry and needy child; therefore administration expenses should not be an issue let alone be a discussion subject." Anthony Ndungu, Executive Director  Adopt-A-School, Kenya
